Marvin McCormick came to Henryville UMC in 2008 after being Associate Pastor of Helena United Methodist Church - He was born and raised in Athens, Alabama, where he graduated from Athens High School. In 1980 he moved to Birmingham and attended Samford University working at Handy Dan. He married the former Kim Stewart in 1984, and they now have 3 children, Chelsea, Caitlin, and Daniel. In 2000, Marvin graduated from Samford and went on to attend Memphis Theological Seminary in Memphis, Tennessee. While in seminary Marvin pastored Lesters Chapel UMC for five years from 1999-2004 . In June, 2004, he came to Helena UMC as our Associate Pastor. Prior to entering the ministry, Marvin worked in the home building industry. He uses this knowledge in helping with home improvements as a ministry. Marvin enjoys preaching and spending time outdoors riding horses and playing with his children.

Please keep the building fund for the youth in your prayers. You can still order your HUMC shirts in support of this project.
